FAMILIA VAISMAN
MOTI, HANNA  Y 8 HIJOS

Mordecai (Moti) Waisman was born en 1882 en the town of Mogolev Podolsk in Ukraine
He was one of 6 siblings 5 brothers and a sister
From his youth he was serious having studied primary school and then gimnasia (high school)in his home town
His parents Shmuel and Sara were in the family business importing furs from Siberia and distributing them in Ukraine and also Bessarabia today Moldavia
The type of fur that they sold was Caracul a very highly respected quality by the middle class
Moti together with his general education also studied privately religion and judiaism  after classes.
Since he had to travel through out Europe to look for markets his industrial opened out to him and he decided to study chemistry in Germany in the university of Leipzig.
On returning to Ukraine he decided to open an industry for dyeing the furs which would add further gains commercializing the product.
In 1908 he married Hanna Goldsmidth  from Bessarabia with he had 8 children Rosa Yosef Riva and Marusia born in Mogolov Podolsk and when the pogroms started in 1918 after the Bolshevik Revolution they had to flee to Briceni the home town of his in laws.

Briceni was across the river Dneister in Bessarabia today Moldavia
He started the industry there and eventually prospered 4 more children were born in Briceni Fira Ida milia y monia.
He was a very well liked and in the community well respected
As the family increased he took in his son Yosef (yusik)and his sons in law yeheskel a Shmuel into the business.
I remember him working in the laboratory mixing the different chemicals for the dyes.
: For those times he was very modern being the first to have a motor car and implanting diesel motors for the industry
As the industry prospered he decided to open a soap factory to be run by his son yusik.
He had an open hand and would give to all charities and of course to Zionist organizations and the blue and white box of keren kayemet was indispensable in the living room and all the children would contribute on all occasions.
Unfortunately he became sick at the age of 55  and there were no modern medications every one thought it was cancer of the lungs
Surely working and mixing the chemicals in the laboratory was a factor
He died in April 1940 and is buried in the cemetery of Briceni
Three months later the Soviets occupied Bessarabia and the family had to leave everything and take refuge in Cszernowits Rumanía

The rest is a sad history.
